The Innovation projects carried out jointly between the University of Zaragoza and BSH Electrodomésticos España have not been limited just to the development of engineering products and areas: for both organisations Innovation covers all fields.
In 2001, BSH Electrodomésticos España, together with the Smoking Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zaragoza, set up a smoking intervention programme. This initiative culminated in the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Departments of Health and Consumer Affairs, and Economy, Finance and Employment of the Government of Aragon, the University of Zaragoza, the Official School of Pharmacists of Zaragoza and BSH Electrodomésticos España to set up the "Smoke-Free Homes" project that was developed between November 2004 and December 2005 in the plants in Montañana and La Cartuja.
Another example is the ongoing collaboration of the University of Zaragoza with the Marketing, Environmental or Production departments; as well as different work carried out such as water reduction, work station ergonomics, sales analysis, etc. This type of collaboration is two-way between both organisations since, BSH España has collaborated and promoted several training workshops for the students of the University of Zaragoza in all its operational areas.
Additionally, BSH Electrodomésticos España was involved in the redevelopment of one of the halls of the Paraninfo Building, as well as several projects of a social nature to promote the independent living of people with disabilities, product donations, etc.
